এখানে until দ্বারা দুটি clause যুক্ত হয়েছে যার principal clause টি past indifinite tense - এর। অতএব নিয়মানুযায়ী subordinate clause টিও past tense - এ হওয়া বাঞ্ছনীয় । এক্ষেত্রে 'ক' এবং 'খ' ভুল, কারণ until নিজেই negative হওয়ায় তারপর কোনো negative expression ঠিক নয়। তাছাড়া 'গ' তে perfect tense থাকায় 'ঘ' উত্তরটিই সঠিক
সাধারণত অতীতকালের কাজ বুঝাতে Till/until এর পরে Past Indefinite Tense হয়। কিন্তু কাজ পুরোপুরি শেষ হওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে গুরুত্ব দিলে Till/until এর পরে Present বা Past Perfect Tense হয়।
বাক্যের অর্থঃ প্লেনটি ছেড়ে না যাওয়া পর্যন্ত আমরা অপেক্ষা করেছিলাম।
Past Indefinite Tense
অতীতের নির্দিষ্ট কোনো সময়ে কোনো কাজ সংঘটিত হয়েছিল, এরূপ বোঝাতে Past Indefinite Tense ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Structure: S + V2 + ext.
